Issuance of Birth Certificate / NAC

Obtain a birth certificate or Non-Availability Certificate (NAC) from the Registrar of Births and Deaths. Birth registration is mandatory under the Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969.

Overview

Birth certificates are issued by the Municipal Corporation, Municipality, or Gram Panchayat depending on the place of birth. Delayed registration is possible with additional documents. NAC is issued when no birth record exists.
